GCSE Results

Pupils who have completed GCSEs are able to collect their results from the main hall on Thursday 23th August from 10.00am to 11.00am. External candidates are able to collect results from 12.00 to 1.00pm.

Staff will be available during this time to discuss any matters relating to entry into the Sixth form.

Please note: Results must be collected by the students themselves. If this is not possible, the person who is collecting the results on the student’s behalf must bring a letter, signed by the student, giving permission for them to be collected by the named person. The person named in the letter collecting the results should also bring identification. This includes parents/carers.

All students must check their timetables carefully to ensure that their entries are correct.

Any queries should be referred to their subject teacher or Miss J Moore in Student Services as soon as possible. This timetable will be updated as and when new dates become available.

Please ensure candidates arrive 15 minutes before the beginning of the exams in correct school uniform and with the correct equipment

General guidance on revision

  1. Revision needs to take place over a number of weeks and not be left to the last minute. Cramming leads to failure.
  2. Students should plan a timetable for revision.
  3. Revision needs to be active and not passive. Passive revision is just sitting reading an exercise or text book. Students need to make notes, highlight key words, make mind-maps and answer past questions.
  4. Students need to revise in a quiet environment. They should not be listening to music as this has been shown to have a detrimental effect on revision.
  5. The optimum time for a revision session is approximately 40 minutes followed by a 10 minute break. This can then be repeated for another subject or topic.
  6. Students must attend revision sessions whenever possible as they will focus on examination technique.

Any queries should be referred to their subject teacher or Miss J Moore, Exam Officer, straight away.
