Preparing students to lead happy, healthy and responsible lives is an essential aspect of life at Kingsthorpe College.
Students are encouraged to participate in the wider life of the College by referring issues to the College Council. Each House has representatives in all year groups who offer useful feedback to all areas of College life. Representatives of each House Council work together as the College Council to ensure the students really have a voice at Kingsthorpe. Students’ welfare is paramount and all students have access to our Nurture and Aspire programmes. We have a confidential drop in service run by our School Nurse, a dedicated school counsellor and a student mentor who can all offer on-going support should students require it.
Key Stage 3 and 4A combination of dedicated lessons, tutor sessions, assemblies and a detailed enrichment programme combine together to ensure all students receive the guidance and support they need to develop positive relationships, stay healthy and understand what it means to live in modern Britain.
Key Stage 5
The provision for PSHE in the Sixth Form focuses on how we can best prepare students for life outside of school, whether that be university/college or the workplace.
